Ember Dragon

Chapter 753: The Chance to Audience

Chapter 753: The Chance to Audience

"Awoo—"With earth-shaking roars, the red dragon and white dragon clashed, their massive, muscular bodies colliding in a fierce struggle with no clear victor.

Dracarys tried to pin Tinia beneath her, but Tinia always escaped at the last second, relying on her agility to weave through the battlefield.

And whenever the red dragon dropped her guard, Tinia would snap her icy jaws or swing her claws, aiming at her vital spots.

At this moment, the white dragon resembled a calm assassin, slipping through the storm of attacks to land precise, deadly strikes.

The more they fought, the more surprised Dracarys became—this white dragon was far tougher than she had imagined.

Though Dracarys had a slight advantage in raw power, Tinia’s strength wasn’t far behind, and her speed made her attacks hard to evade.

What irritated her most was the frost divine power—every strike from the white dragon carried a chill. One slip-up would lead to frostbite.

Dracarys launched a relentless assault like a tempest, but her body was already covered in frost wounds.

"This needs to end quickly! That white dragon’s too dangerous!" she thought through gritted teeth, slamming Tinia away and soaring into the sky.

But Tinia had nearly identical thoughts—though with very different reasoning.

This red dragon must be defeated quickly!

Dracarys was too much of a threat. She was a strong, young, and strikingly attractive red dragon by draconic standards. If she met the Master...

That thought filled Tinia with anguish.

No! She couldn’t allow such a thing to happen! She had to act!

With that in mind, Tinia beat her wings and soared into the sky, locking eyes on the distant red dragon with a hostile glare.

"Roar—"

Almost simultaneously, both dragons roared in unison, unleashing terrifying power from within.

Fiery cracks spread across Dracarys’s chest.

Flame streamed from her golden pupils, and her body was wreathed in blazing fire, like a hellish demon.

Her massive wings unfurled with a whoosh, flames veiling the sky, and the air cracked with heat.

Meanwhile, Tinia folded her wings in midair. Thick ice crystals formed around her, encasing her in a pure white cocoon that radiated a biting cold.

In a dragon duel, there was no mercy—only fierce attacks at every opportunity.

"Die—!"

Dracarys charged with overwhelming fire, crashing toward the ice cocoon.

But at that moment, Tinia spread her wings and let out a raspy roar. Her eyes gleamed with icy blue light.

A blizzard erupted, transforming the area into a frozen white wasteland. Tinia’s body was covered in a thick layer of ice like armor, radiating endless chill.

The ground rumbled as more icebergs burst forth from beneath.

"Boom!"

Ice and fire collided again. Ice shards flew, flame surged, and thick smoke filled the sky. Within the smoke, the dragons clashed, flashes of claw and scale visible now and then.

"White dragon, I underestimated you. I admit you’re a worthy opponent," Dracarys said with a savage grin, slamming her flaming claw toward Tinia.

"Hah, who needs your acknowledgment? You arrogant bitch!"

Tinia whipped her tail, knocking aside the claw, then twisted and lunged at Dracarys’s throat.

Dracarys dipped her head, opened her jaws, and fired a burning fireball at Tinia’s face.

"Boom!"

Tinia didn’t back down—she spewed a cone of freezing breath that extinguished the fireballs in an instant.

"But it’s a shame—the final victor will be me!"

Dracarys inhaled deeply, roaring flames pouring from her throat to clash with the white dragon’s icy breath.

Neither side backed down. It was a battle to the finish.

"Damn it..."

While maintaining her breath attack, Tinia watched the red dragon closely.

Her Master had taught her to strike where the enemy was weakest.

Though Dracarys’s ancestral blood let her resist frost, her accumulated injuries had begun to slow her left side.

And her left shoulder, previously pierced by an ice spike, was the perfect weak spot.

This was the chance. Miss it, and it wouldn’t come again.

Tinia made up her mind—she would end it now.

She quietly channeled the power of Matalotok. Frost energy surged to her right claw, making her scales glow icy blue.

Not far away, Dracarys closed her mouth and panted heavily. Smoke puffed from her nostrils, and her head radiated heat—she was overheating.

The red dragon was tired.

Now!

Tinia roared and unleashed the frost from her claw, forming a twenty-meter-long spear.

The spear, forged of crystal-clear ice, shimmered with deadly cold—a divine weapon made to end all things.

"Die!"

Gripping the spear, Tinia flapped her wings and shot forward like a ghostly white streak.

Dracarys’s pupils shrank. She couldn’t dodge in time and had to face it head-on.

Tinia had charged for too long—her speed was unmatched!

"Whoosh—"

The ice spear pierced the air and drove straight into Dracarys’s wound, impaling her left shoulder again.

"Awoo!" The red dragon howled in pain, her neck craned, wings flared, voice shattering the skies.

The ice-blue glow spread quickly from the spear.

Dracarys slowed down. Her burning blood chilled and froze, her flames extinguished, her scales frosted over.

She stumbled in the air, teetering on the verge of collapse.

"Perfect! I can finally report back to Master!"

Overjoyed, Tinia rushed forward, aiming to slam the red dragon into the rocks in revenge.

But just then, the "frozen" red dragon opened her eyes, a crazed smile in her golden pupils.

"Got you."

"Crack—"

The ice on her body cracked like glass and shattered into countless shards.

Blood seeped from her scales, outlining her frame in a crimson glow. Her aura surged with a choking scent of blood.

"That scent—so familiar!"

Tinia’s pupils dilated. She panicked, flapping her wings to flee.

But it was too late.

"Roar—"

Bathed in bloodlight, Dracarys grabbed Tinia’s wing and bit down with ferocity.

Tinia struggled, but the red dragon tore at her, ripping her wing membrane and scales, exposing raw flesh.

At that moment, Tinia remembered why the scent was familiar. She muttered, "She’s a Scales of Blood berserker..."

"ROAR!!"

The mad howl shook the sky.

Dracarys’s mouth dripped blood, her eyes bloodshot like a rabid beast.

Tinia, battered and torn, was dragged down with her, both dragons crashing into the ground.

"Boom!"

Dust flew, stones shattered, and a massive crater formed.

"You lunatic!" Tinia roared in rage, unleashing frost upon the red dragon.

But the blood aura resisted the cold, slowing its effects.

And Dracarys, numb to pain, cared only for killing her enemy.

"Awoo!!"

Another frenzied roar—Dracarys lunged.

"You damn lunatic! I’m a vassal of the Ember Emperor!" Tinia cursed, trying to escape with her tattered wings.

But Dracarys caught her legs and yanked her back down.

Tinia turned her head and unleashed her strongest frost breath.

The red dragon bared her bloodied jaws and lunged greedily for Tinia’s throat.

Just then, a voice echoed from above, carrying immense ancestral dragon pressure.

"Enough. That’s enough."

A colossal red dragon phantom appeared in the sky, crowned with four horns and a mountain-sized body.

Like grasping a lifeline, Tinia cried out: "Master! She’s gone mad! She’s insane!"

The voice seemed to affect Dracarys. Her eyes cleared, the blood aura faded, and she returned to her proud, noble self.

She looked up longingly at the phantom.

For the first time, Dracarys lowered her head, bowed, and said with uncontainable excitement, "Dracarys, daughter of Osvaldo, greets His Majesty Cassius."

But the phantom only glanced at her and vanished without a word.

"Wha..."

She stood there stunned, unsure what to do.

Since birth, Dracarys had been the strongest hatchling in her lair, an undisputed queen through every stage of life. Even the Dragon Queen favored her.

This had made her even more arrogant than typical red dragons—she didn’t see other dragons as equals, just lesser reptiles.

They were born to serve her—no, to be her slaves.

Humans, gnomes, elves, orcs? They didn’t even qualify as slaves—just ants to crush.

For the first time ever, Dracarys had been ignored—even when she was humble and respectful.

"Unbelievable... as expected of His Majesty Cassius!"

Her voice trembled with excitement. Her massive body shook with joy.

She had never been treated like this before!

Truly worthy of her devotion!

She stared longingly where the phantom had vanished, golden pupils filled with madness and worship.

"Lunatic..." Tinia glared at Dracarys as if something precious was being stolen from her.

Dracarys slowly turned and regained her lofty demeanor, chin raised, gaze proud.

With a faint smirk, she said, "Not bad, white dragon. You didn’t bore me. But you still lost."

The red dragon extended a claw. "Hand it over."

"Hand over what?"

Tinia clenched her teeth, seething, burning the red dragon’s face into her memory.

Ah yes, that famous white dragon grudge-holding gene.

"The teleportation scroll to the palace, of course."

"White dragon, as a vassal of His Majesty Cassius, surely you’re not shameless enough to withhold it?"

"Or, I could just pull it from your corpse."

"You—!"

Tinia trembled with rage, silently killing the red dragon a thousand times in her heart.

But under Cassius’s orders, she grudgingly pulled out the scroll and threw it over.

Then Dracarys asked something even more infuriating: "By the way, what’s your name?"

"Tinia."

The white dragon spat each syllable through gritted teeth.

"Good. I’ll remember you, Tinia, pet of His Majesty Cassius."

In Dracarys’s view, lesser beings didn’t deserve to have their names known.

Only those worthy of being called opponents were remembered.

For such a haughty red dragon, remembering someone’s name was a tremendous honor.

But the white dragon clearly didn’t see it that way.

"Damn red dragon."

Tinia silently swore that next time, she’d beat that arrogant red dragon until she was picking her teeth off the ground.
