Chapter 1530 - 71: Absolutely Perfect Future_2
Holt’s day usually starts like this: waking up in bed, rubbing sleepy eyes, washing his face, wandering around with a toothbrush in one hand, surveying briefly, then coming to the edge of the watchtower platform to spit out a mouthful of saliva mixed with toothpaste residue over the burning giant carcass below. The thought of the Beast of the Herd consuming the toothpaste filled Holt with an inexplicable sense of joy, which marked the beginning of a wonderful day.
"Pack it up, hurry."
Holt urged, knowing Bologue could unleash a searing light at any moment to burn this High Tower to ash. If he seized the power of the Ethereal Furnace, supported by endless Ether, even incinerating the whole Land of Secrets wouldn’t be too hard.
After resting for a while, Bologue leisurely got up from the ground. Holt also stood and watched what the expert would do next.
Bologue walked to the wall, simply observing the miserable Speaker, "Don’t you think he looks like a cane?"
"A cane?"
Holt came over, gingerly picking up the Speaker, pondering for a moment, he turned the Speaker upside down, with the head facing downwards, spine up, bloodied nerves wrapped in hand, then bending his knees.
Bologue looked at Holt’s pose in confusion, asking, "What are you doing?"
"Don’t you think it looks more like a heavy metal band?"
Holt said, plucking at the disheveled nerve fibers like guitar strings.
"Huh?"
Bologue hadn’t expected that Holt’s imagination would fly even wilder than his own.
Holt continued, "Do you need me to howl a couple of times? I was the lead singer of a band in my youth."
...
After saying goodbye to Holt, Bologue walked back down the road, perhaps because the greatest enemy had been defeated, his steps were surprisingly light despite still being in enemy territory.
The sound of footsteps constantly echoed until another set of footsteps reverberated not far away, intruding into Bologue’s awareness.
Bologue gripped his Vengeance Bite cautiously. The Speaker had been rendered powerless, and the Ancestral Council had been completely controlled; now the All Secrets Order was utterly defeated. Bologue hoped the adversary would surrender immediately rather than forcing him to kill.
Today, both sword and axe had drunk enough blood.
A hazy figure gradually emerged, and footsteps increased. Bologue roughly judged that there were two. Then, turning the stairway corner, he saw their faces clearly.
Fabien and Ossana halted, looking up at Bologue from a safe distance.
Silence lingered for a moment, with Ossana initiating, "Bologue, since you’re here, does that mean..."
"It’s over," Bologue proclaimed loudly, "We’ve captured the Nest Core, controlled the Speaker, everything is finished."
Ossana’s breath stopped for a moment, she hadn’t anticipated the end arriving this way. Originally, she planned for her and Fabien to personally end this dark regime.
Bologue’s muscles tensed, Ether ready to burst, "So, have you seen Nesanel? Is he still alive?"
"We’ve seen him, he’s alive, just on the level with the Ethereal Furnace," Fabien answered promptly, noticing Bologue’s tension, "He’s with your team members."
Fabien added, "That Clarks boy, and... that Night Race."
Regarding Olivia, Fabien and Ossana maintained absolute vigilance, but from Palmer’s explanation, she seemed indeed a legitimate Night Race, even when Nesanel later met her, he said little more.
"Good."
Bologue nodded, letting down most of his guard, "The Speaker hasn’t been killed, only rendered powerless. There aren’t any solid methods yet to completely deal with him."
"Alright, I got it. Leave this part to us professionals to handle."
Fabien said, gesturing briefly towards Ossana beside him. Ossana stepped forward, cautiously approaching Bologue.
Only upon passing Bologue did Ossana relax, having merely thought of Bologue as a unique Undead before. But she hadn’t imagined this Undead to single-handedly dismantle the entire Ancestral Council, even with the help of another Seeker of Glory.
Ossana realized once again that she had brought in not a delegation or investigation team, but a thorough military force that, within moments, completely dismantled the All Secrets Order’s command system.
This wasn’t destruction but purification, unveiling a brand-new command system to replace the Ancestral Council, ushering the All Secrets Order into a new wave of reforms. As for the cost of all this... Ossana deemed it bearable.
Bologue asked Fabien, "Aren’t you going with her?"
"No, since the Speaker’s already rendered powerless, there’s no need for me to go," Fabien waved his hand, then smiled, exhaling a long sigh, "Ah, the mental preparation for this journey took quite a while."
"Preparation for what?"
"Preparation for self-sacrifice," Fabien sighed, "To topple those immortal elders, some cost must be paid."
Bologue pondered for a moment, detecting, "That’s your plan? To utilize the Order Bureau to overthrow the Ancestral Council’s rule, personally destroying them if needed."
"No such necessity," Fabien shook his head, "In my original plan, I didn’t think the Order Bureau could solve the Ancestral Council."
Bologue chuckled, "Is our performance outstanding?"
"More than that, it’s making me wholeheartedly follow the Order Bureau," Fabien joked initially, then turned heavy, "Otherwise, your task of destroying us would not be much more hassle than shattering the Ancestral Council."
"Hmm."
Bologue didn’t respond with clear words, echoing vaguely, also confirming Fabien’s stance, affiliation through this conversation.
Fabien then inquired, "But... I’m very curious how you rendered him powerless, the Fantasy Species isn’t easy to handle."
"You don’t need to worry about that, just know that he’s as good as dead now."
Bologue didn’t intend to reveal his identity as the Unshakable, which was far more important than being an Undead.
"Alright."
Fabien paused briefly before asking again, "Do you have any thoughts on Fantasy Species? Like speculations on this power, and its further potential expansion?"
"I don’t understand what you’re saying."
Leaning against the rail, Bologue felt somewhat agitated, wanting to quickly end the topic.
"Well... according to the Ancestral Council’s plan, imminent endless Extraordinary wars will erupt worldwide, which we’ll avoid. After wars, the land interests will be redrawn, at that time we’ll fully emerge from shadows into light."
Fabien continued on his own, "We will expand the Earthly Celestial Kingdom beyond just Nest Core, encompassing the entire Land of Secrets, then extending to surrounding territories, until forming a true Paradise Country achieving all wishes."
Bologue detested their fantasies, "Don’t think about it, it’s over."
"No, no, I mean, once such a Paradise Country forms, is its sole purpose just maintaining immortality?"
Fabien grinned at Bologue, guiding, "Eternal life is too trivial a wish. This Paradise Country should serve to fulfill much greater aspirations."
Bologue stood up straight, seriously looking at Fabien, must admit, Fabien’s words piqued his interest.
"Like?"
"Like simulating humanity’s future, how about that?"
Fabien knew he had succeeded, stepping closer intimately to Bologue, reducing the distance between them.
"For instance, allowing people in the Paradise Country to freely develop, let time pass naturally, so over centuries, millennia, whenever human development faced irrecoverable crises, everything resets. When crises re-emerge, implement corrective interventions... In limitless trials and resets, we will ultimately simulate an optimal solution for humanity’s future."
Fabien spoke passionately, "A perfect future."
